Bordentown City has been governed under the Walsh Act since 1913. The governing body consists of three commissioners, one of whom is selected to serve as Mayor. Each commissioner is assigned to oversee one or more specific government offices during their term in office. Members are elected to four-year concurrent terms in office on a non-partisan basis as part of the May municipal election. The next election of Board of Commissioners is on May 15, 2021.

- Deputy Mayor John C. Brodowski – Commissioner of Revenue & Finance
- Commissioner Joseph D. Myers – Commissioner of Public Works, Parks & Public Property
